Both in quality and quantity, Spain is a world-class producer of wines. Currently, close to three million Spanish acres are under wine grape cultivation, making it the most widely planted wine-producing nation. Spain consumes two thirds of its production and exports the other third. More than 400 different varieties of wine grapes are grown in Spain. Most of the table wine is red, but nearly 65% of grapes harvested are white because of the large quantities of both brandy and sherry produced in the country.

Orin Swift “E” Spanish Red Wine
LIST PRICE 20.00; OUR PRICE 15.99
Dave Phinney’s latest release is a beautiful blend of Garnacha from Priorat, Tempranillo and Garnacha from Rioja and Cariñena (Carignane) from Ribera Del Duero. You can immediately smell the very pretty floral aromas of violets and purple flowers from the Priorat. Warm, ripe blackberry and boysenberry fruit combine on the palate with a faint smoky, quality. The wine is very rich and complex; full of ripe, round fruit and crying out for Spanish cheeses and tapas.
