This Malbec, Argentina’s signature red grape, is made from completely handpicked fruit from the Cuyo Region. 2012 Elsa Bianchi Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina

The Elsa Malbec comes from Valentin Bianchi’s Doña Elsa estate in the cool reaches of San Rafael, Mendoza. The 2011 release garnered 90 points from Robert Parker and a ‘Best Buy’ designation from Wine Enthusiast, and the new release of this consistently delicious and affordable single vineyard Malbec doesn’t skip a beat!
2011 Pascual Toso Malbec, Mendoza, Argentina
LIST PRICE 12.00; OUR PRICE 10.99
Robert Parkers gives this wine 89 points: “The 2011 Malbec comes from Barrancas in the Maipu District of Mendoza from vines located at 700 meters above sea level. It is fermented in stainless steel and thereafter 40% of the wine is aged in new American oak casks. It has a pure natural nose that expresses the essence of Malbec: lifted raspberry leaf and wild strawberry scents with traces of dried rose petal. It is medium-bodied with supple, fine tannins and great purity. It glides across the mouth with those raspberry and strawberry notes continuing, joined by a taut citric edge and a slight leafiness towards the composed finish. This is pure class for a fabulous price. Drink now.”

This young wine displays considerable power. There is perfect harmony between the aromas of red fruits from Cabernet Sauvignon and the hint of plums from Malbec making this wine very elegant and attractive.
