611 S. Palm Canyon Drive, Suite #22, Palm Springs, 92264
In 2002, Tim and Steph Busch started Trinitas Cellars, a small winery in Napa Valley that continues to be owned and operated by the Busch family. Trinitas sources a broad range of varietals from the regions where climate and soil conditions are most favorable for the winery’s styling of wines. Some of the wines come from grapes selected from historical vineyards in Northern California; vines that are over a century old. These exceptional grapes are handcrafted into approachable wines that can be enjoyed as an apéritif or with food.
2012 Trinitas Chardonnay, Carneros
LIST PRICE 29.00; OUR PRICE 23.99
The Trinitas 2012 Chardonnay is from the Los Carneros appellation of the Napa Valley. Barrel aging in American oak lends to aromas of hickory , crème brûlée and cotton candy. Secondary fermentation creates a mid-palate with rich flavors of creamy butter and caramel; that is, butterscotch. Lemon curd and charred pineapple sing with a juicy explosion. This wine is frequently compared favorably to Rombauer, but at considerably lower pricing.
2010 Trinitas Mysterium, Mendocino
LIST PRICE 26.00; OUR PRICE 19.99
The 2010 Mysterium is brimming with deep violet color and displays aromatics of black cherries, strawberry, and a hint of plum jam. Well balanced with supple tannins giving rise to a silky mouth feel compliment the essence of chocolate with red berries until the finish. The blend for the 2010 vintage is made up of Carignane (53%), Zinfandel (33%), Petite Sirah (7%), Mataro (5%), Black Malvasia (1%), and Alicante Bouschet (1%).
2012 Trinitas Zinfandel, Old Vine, Mendocino
LIST PRICE 26.00; OUR PRICE 19.99
Aromatics of candy apple, stewed cranberry, raspberry, cherry, briar, and cinnamon jump out of the glass. The wine has a lovely core from beginning to end with a great acidity on the finish leaving your mouth watering for more. The tannins are perfect for Zinfandel, not too aggressive and not too soft. The stewed cranberry from the nose translates nicely to the palate as well, and the wine finishes on the palate with a touch of cherries jubilee.
2011 Trinitas Petite Sirah, Old Vine, Contra Costa County
LIST PRICE 35.00; OUR PRICE 24.99
The 2011 Petite Sirah is dry farmed near the town of Oakley. This wine boasts aromatics of blue fruits, spices and semi-sweet mocha. The tannins are supple yet support the acid in perfect balance. On the palate one will discover ripe, boysenberry jam & black cherry reduction playing with spices such as ginger, nutmeg and light espresso. With a harmonious finish that lingers into the back palate, this wine continues to call for another sip. The grapes come from the Gonsalves Vineyard in Oakley. Deep sandy soils with root-systems that stretch almost 60 feet deep make this area extremely unique for growing Petite Sirah. These vineyards are well over 100 years old and have survived both phyloxera and prohibition, which is an amazing accomplishment.
2010 Trinitas Moscato, California
LIST PRICE 13.00; OUR PRICE 9.99
The Moscato has aromatics of stone fruit, peach blossoms and pear. On the palate there is a smooth texture with just a touch of spritz. The wine shows bright acidity with flavors that will remind you of sweet summer peaches. It is crisp and clean with a finish that “dances across the palate”.
